Back from S.C.!

Oh, the horror of it all. To be plucked mercilessly from the warm and comfortable south, forced back to the frozen wastelands of the Poconos...it's torture, I tell you.
South Carolina was a blast. I had a great time. Met some great people, including some fellow Echelon authors, none of whom I'd met before. This was my first festival-type event, and I look forward to many, many more.
In other news, yesterday morning I got to go on the air with Gary, on the Gary In The Morning web radio show. The only unfortunate thing was I didn't get much promotional stuff done, as we were too busy cracking each other up. Good times, though, good times. Click on the link above and check the archives for the January 26 show, if you're interested in having a listen.

Well, folks, I'm off to the South Carolina Book Festival in Columbia, SC. I don't leave till tomorrow, but I've got a whole bunch of packing and last-minute stuff to do tonight, so...until next Wednesday, ciau, baby! Oh, and if you live in SC, don't forget to come on out this Saturday and Sunday!

Another Great Event...

Well, there's twenty-seven more copies of Surviving Serendipity floating around in the world now. I had an absolutely awesome time at my signing at Pierce's Used Books in Brodheadsville today. The combination of the article and ad in West End Happenings, and Russ's buy-one, get-one sale overcame the dampening effect of the snow, and people hopped in their 4WD's and filled the store almost all day long.
On a more personal note...I did not have one single attack of nerves today, not one. Even chatting up strangers, starting conversations with people to get them over to my table, didn't cause me to push my new "panic button" (lol Em, thanks again!). The only thing that was both immensely gratifying and mildly irritating was the two photographers/reporters, Linda Koehler from the Times News and Tom Schrader from Festivities magazine, who showed up to photograph the event. Gratifying, because, hey, they like me, they really like me! Irritating because I have a gigantic pimple on my forehead, of course.
Thanks again to all who came out to support me, and special thanks to Russ, who hosted a fantastic event and kept me alive all day with his fabulous organic coffee!

Phew!

Well, first of all, I have books, and more importantly, so do a bunch of other people! So far, I've gotten a lot of wonderful feedback, which has left me with a constant glow of pride right behind my ribcage. It's like someone just told me my kid is a genius.
I have to admit, the book's release was a pretty scary time for me. I'm taking something which is the concentrated essence of myself and putting it out there for all the world to see and judge. For a person like me, who has a serious fear of judgement, it's torture. And I don't expect EVERYONE to love it. But, so far, everyone has. Which I'm totally okay with.
